  1. I’m sitting in a hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa. Two hours before dinner, three before my show. I am reading the blog, and looking at the pictures, and all I can think is: “I hope my client takes me to a really really really ridiculously amazing restaurant because I can’t stop thinking about good food.” Having grown up in Japan (13 years), Germany (2 years), and having lived in the US since the early 80s, and traveled through numerous countries… I can safely say that Japanese food is still my favorite. These dishes bring me to my tiny home in Tokyo, even when I’m surrounded by the expansiveness of the Mid West.
